Vehicle Data & Computing
The research stack links the vehicle’s electronic systems with data capture and software analysis. Each layer has a specific role and a dependency on the information it receives.
Vehicle Systems
Vehicle interfaces and diagnostic communication provide the starting point for understanding module behavior and identifying the information available to record.
Embedded Systems
Embedded computing is the planned processing layer for future on-vehicle analysis. Hardware selection and integration follow the data, timing and interface needs of each experiment.
Software & Tools
Capture scripts, logs and analysis interfaces help turn raw information into records that can be examined and compared. Software tooling supports the experiment rather than replacing the need to understand the vehicle.

Why the layers matter
A useful research result depends on more than collecting data. It requires knowing where the information came from, what it represents and how it was processed.
NST α separates vehicle access, acquisition, compute and analysis so each layer can be examined independently. That makes it easier to identify missing information or a weak assumption before extending the system.
The longer-term sensing and decision layers depend on that foundation and remain part of the research roadmap.
